Shaku Atre is an accomplished entrepreneur and a passionate advocate for helping women around the world develop skills to gain financial independence. Using her own micro-lending money, she has helped a number of young women become successful entrepreneurs in the U.S. and in India. She is a computer technologist who has worked with IBM, the FBI, AT&T, and many other prestigious organizations worldwide, and was a partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers. With her relentless drive to learn new skills, she has achieved her goal of financial independence.
Her majors in college were Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. She finished her Masters of Science in Statistics Suma Cum Laude in University of Poona, India. Her scholarship for postgraduate studies in Applied Mathematics brought her to Heidelberg, Germany. Her thesis was in Astronomy when she used computers in the 60’s and she has stayed with the computers since then.
She is an internationally renowned expert who lectures on big data, business intelligence, data warehousing, data mining, and database technology. Atre is also the author of six highly regarded books, Data Base: Structured Techniques for Design, Performance and Management, John Wiley & Sons; has coauthored Business Intelligence Roadmap : The Complete Project Lifecycle for Decision-Support Applications , Addison-Wesley; among others on these topics. She has published hundreds of articles in trade publications .She has been a frequent speaker on these topics in the USA, Canada, Europe, South America, Asia, and Australia.
She has broken grounds in presenting data with Data Storytelling which is highly appreciated by all who despise data insights presented with spreadsheets, charts, and graphs only. Her stories about data are addressing the emotions of us all just like the stories told to us over decades by our parents, grandparents, and friends.
She has worked with a number of organizations including financial institutions, manufacturing companies, Insurance organizations, government includes institutions as the FBI and health industry in resolving a number of business related issues by implementing the appropriate technology.
She has worked for IBM for 14 years in Germany and the USA. She was a partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers for a number of years. She has been an entrepreneur and has founded a number of IT companies in New York and California.
Currently, a resident of New York City, Shaku grew up in a village in India, in a culture where women generally have a second-class status in society. Her chutzpah and drive for independence in every form stem from her upbringing and education. With the encouragement of an independent-thinking and supportive mother in India and an “adopted” mother in Germany, Shaku has fought her way past sexual and cultural biases.
Mr. Jean Bigras is a managing partner with the Atre Group contributing to the development of Atre’s methodologies and tools. Jean has 15 years of experience leading web technology implementations for both Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups.
Jean has successfully been involved in implementing many different systems, both open source, and commercial systems, in order to achieve the proper goals. Managing “from the trenches” has allowed Jean to be involved in every step of implementations, from strategy and assessment to launch.
He has held senior consulting engagements for Astoria Software, BEA Systems, Inc., Borland, Citrix Systems, Enterprise DB, Hyperion Solutions, Informatica, Mercury Interactive Corporation, Pinnacle Systems, SAP, Seagate, TIBCO Software and Verity.
Asif Sayyed is our Human Resources and Logistics Manager because of his skill to be able to deal with difficult and easy people. He also has the knack of solving difficult logistics issues which are a “Must” skill, especially in India. He is working for Atre Group, Inc. for 12 years.
